I don't think anyone has mentioned my favorite "fix the goof" soldering tool, a great big vacuum desoldering pump. I use a Soldapult Deluxe that usually cleans the holes right out, without the foul language that solder braid seems to need. Do the experts prefer solder braid, or is that just where the conversation led?
