Stephen, you gave me the idea to check it on my iPad and I find it doesn't search within the book on there either even though other PDF's search fine.
Also, as I was looking at Fred's web site I saw he had a bunch of updated pages listed. So, I downloaded them and then using Preview I inserted them in the proper place in the manual. (Preview is slick for this). Now, when I search for something it finds any occurrences on the new pages but still not in the original. Strange indeed!
