Well after a day and a half I finally got it to work! There was a comedy of errors here... I hooked everything up, established a skype connection to the computer that had the signalink attached and tryed it after going over a multitude of sound settings. As it turns out, with Skype it is easy. So I am sitting in front of the computer with my laptop and talking into my headset connected to the laptop, and I am getting a signal out.But there is aa ton of echos and big delays with the echos. When I move away from the computer attached to the radio, everything is good. But I tried and tried to CQand answer the sweepstakes spots to no avail. So I hooked up WEBCAM, and had it point at the power meter. Nothing, nada, except when I get close to the compyter connected to the radio and then it works! Hmmm, what if I disconnect my headset from the radio? No signal going out anymore.... So after a lot of troubleshooting guess what it was? You have to set the K3 to use line in for the mike!! Didn't see it in the manual... Now it works. And pretty good. My first CQ was with Aruba, and he said the signal was quite fine, a little computer like, but it worked. As it turns out, the best quality is if you turn compression off completely and turn up the line in gain.
Hope this helps someone in the future!...Now to have my radio when I'm away from the house!!! -- View this message in context: http://elecraft.365791.n2.nabble.com/SignaLink-Wiring-tp7010167p7014861.html Sent from the Elecraft mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[email protected] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
