Hi all, It appears that some KX3s were shipped with AGC (receive automatic gain control) turned off. This can result in clipping at the AF output at normal gain settings.
Look at your LCD. If you see "AGC-" without "F" or "S" immediately following, then AGC is OFF. Locate the AGC MD menu entry and set it to ON. Some operators like to turn AGC off, but generally this requires RF gain reduction.
