John I have no knowledge of what Elecraft is going to do. In general there are three distinct technologies out there and it is difficult to make a charger that crosses those boundaries. Lead (car battery, gel cell etc.), NiCd/Niah, and Lithium. With the higher efficiency and lower weight of the Lithium series plus the airline travel restrictions being reduced on some types of Lithium it seems like a no brainer to me. 73 Fred, AE6QL
