Mike,

The KRX3 should have the same overall gain as the K3's main receiver.

Try going into BSET Mode to see if the preamp is turned on on the sub  
receiver. You can also adjust other sub-RX settings in BSET mode,  
including NB, NR, and filter bandwidth, all of which can affect gain.
