Jay, Why "shoot yourself in the foot" twice? If you must have compromise antennas, that is one shot, and perhaps that is unavoidable. I ask why you would use a compromise transceiver with a compromise antenna. The K3 will perform better than that compromise transceiver even with a compromise antenna.
