Hi Thom & all, I recently upgraded K2 #402. It originally had the KAT2, KSB2, and KNB2. The original performance was outstanding.
I added all possible updates, plus the KDSP2, KAT100, KIO2, and KPA100. The difference on CW isn't noticeable. But some of the upgrades (14 new matched crystals, widening the KSB2 passband, etc) did make great improvements in SSB so that it is now a great SSB rig also. If you are happy with the performance of the rig in CW, like I was, don't change a thing. It turns out that when the K2 first came out, it was a great CW rig to begin with.
