I did not see a response to your question on the reflector.
The answer is NO.
The P3 takes a regular DE-9 connector (as found on most USB to serial
adapters) while the KX3, XG3 and KAT500 take a 3.5mm stereo plug
carrying only TXD and RXD and signal ground
