This is why I use a desktop with real serial ports as my control of my
K3. You can get a board with a couple of real serial ports cheap and
install it easily. Then, you will have no more USB/RS232 problems.
That said, it is time that Elecraft move from the dark ages of the RS232
into the realm of the USB port. Such a move would sure be a relief for
the laptop users.
In case you can't figure it out, I do not trust converters. They have a
proven track record of being unreliable. For now, I'll stick to real
serial ports.
