Just use a panel mount BNC jack and some scrap plexiglass. I made the exact same dipole that you describe. Simply drill a hole in the plexiglass for the BNC jack and mount the jack. I also drilled a few holes for antenna strain relief. You can get the BNC jack connector in any Radio Shack. It has solder lugs for soldering the doublets to. Voila, no longer need to cut your coax. 73,

I have a 50ft length of RG8X that has BNC connectors on either end. Of course i could cut one connector off and just solder the coax to the antenna but before i do that thought I would check. What I am trying to do is make up a 44' Dipole and feed it with coax for portable work when I go to a park, etc. Paul Gates, KD3JF K1 #0231 KX1 #1186 XG1 ______________________________________________________ Yahoo! for Good Donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. http://store.yahoo.com/redcross-donate3/ _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
