The KX3 is a direct to baseband SDR receiver, so a good power supply is a measure to prevent noise and hum. Wayne's recommendation (and mine) is to use a well regulated linear power supply. There are many 4 to 6 amp linear supplies available. That current rating will allow you to use that supply with the KX3 in addition to several shack accessories.

The Astron 5A or 7A would fit the need nicely but a larger supply would work nicely too (put it on the floor under the desk).
