Dick,

Did you connect the SignaLink to the microphone input or the Line Input of the K3? If you are using Line Input, you will have to reconfigure the SignaLink for Line level output - see the SignaLink instructions - as I recall it is a jumper inside that must be changed.

Once you get the output of the SignaLink correct, use DATA A submode with the MIC SEL menu set to whichever input you are using. Then adjust the audio drive and the K3 "Mic" gain to produce 4 bars steady on the K3 ALC meter with the 5th bar blinking. Note that this is NO ALC for the K3 in data mode.

You can do the setup in TX TEST so you do not bother your fellow hams with a signal on the air.

Hi,

Mr K3 has arrived!!! So far everything has gone well, except one thing. I am
using a SignaLink USB, as I had one and used it on my formeer radio. I have the
new cord and jumper wire card installed. It is connected to the wire in, wire out,
and PTT on the radio and into the SL, thence into the computer. I have changed
Hamlib to K3 in the configure box. I received just fine, but when I try to send
it lights up the PTT light in the Sl and the TX light on the K3, but no signal.
The K3 mode is set on USB, but the same result on Data> I know that I am doing
something wrong. Helpl!
