Okay list, here's what I've found so far between family commitments and
watching the Bears lose...

I tried recalibrating both ksyn3 boards but no improvement. I then tried
removing the Sub rcvr, and the main still has the dead spots, about every 5
khz and in fact, the rcvr is totally dead in those spots. The P3 goes blank
at those points too. I then thought since I had two of the ksyn3 boards, I
would try the one from the sub in the main position since the sub didn't
have those dead spots... Viola! After recalibrating the ksyn3 in the main
slot, the main rcvr works perfectly. So to confirm it was the ksyn3 board,
I popped it into the sub slot and reinstalled the sub rx and it now has the
dead spots. I'll be calling Elecraft tomorrow and asking them to send me a
new ksyn3 board.

Thanks to all and I'll keep the faith!

Subject: [Elecraft] k3 main rcvr issue

Hello,

I just completed assembly of my K3/100 with subrx and 2.8khz, 400hz and
250hz filters in each rcvr. Very impressive rig.

On the main rcvr, while tuning across the 40m band, I get a "dead spot"
about every 5khz, thats about 1/2 khz wide. I would say any signals are
attenuated at least 20 db. The interval varies from band to band. It seems
to do it on all bands to a varying degree. The problem does not show up on
the sub rcvr... any thoughts?

I was going to try and remove the sub rx and see if that has any affect.
