For those of you have been following this, here is a text message string with the ATT tech who installed my router. He is a good guy.
Me: OK, I think I worked around my problem, but I don't much care for the Motorola router. Tech: Everybody hates it. Me: I am going to set it up as a bridge and put an Asus router behind it.
