My K2/100 and KAT100 are working fine with the
specified cables, Don.
What is "the special cable to connect to the
computer or a serial adapter"? Is it documented in
the KPA100 manual? Sorta buried in another
project just now, with an antenna distraction too,
so I've not looked it up. Just noticed lots of
stuff at Elecraft website re computer control of
the K2 so I wondered idly how that can be done.

Phil,
Look at the cable shown in the KAT100 manual
page 25.
Note that the cable connects to the AUX I/O
connector.
That is *not* a serial port - only three pins
are RS-232, RXD, TXD and Signal Ground.
Do not plug a serial cable directly into the K2,
it can damage the K2 or the serial port or
both. You must use the special cable to connect
to the computer or a serial adapter.

But with a K2/100 connected to a KAT100 it
seems there is no serial port left over for
computer control of anything (can't pull mine
out now to look due to a project underway on my
desk, but that's my recollection).
So is there a way to use a computer with this
trio of K2 elements?
