Absolutely, Jack, *IF* the 2nd XFIL flattening mod has been made. Otherwise
one ends up making a mess of the transmitted audio since the 2nd XFIL is
used only on receive. The symptoms he described are exactly what we heard on
early K2s when the BFO was set properly.  

IIRC, this is one of the mods that became part of the basic K2 as shipped
starting about S/N 3000. It took that long to be incorporated only because
it required a change to the main pc board in the K2. The issue came up and
the mod was developed about the time I built S/N 1289 in the Spring of 2000,
so only the oldest of the K2's now on the air had that problem.
