Hi Mike, Does the KPA500 follow the band switching and display the correct band on its LCD? That would mean that the band data is getting through the cables. The KAT500 uses the AUXBUX (pin 2 in the 15-pin cable) to get the frequency information in addition to the band data pins. You might check your K3-KAT cable to see if that pin is OK.
You might try going through all the KAT500 configuration screens to see if something looks amiss and then open the Operate screen. (In the KAT500 Utility). That screen is VERY useful to help you figure out what is going on. 73, Fred KE7X "The Elecraft K3: Design, Configuration and Operation 2nd ed" "The Elecraft KX3 - Going for the summit" "The Elecraft KPA500 and KAT500 - the K-Line Dream Station" All available at www.elecraft.com KPA500 and KAT500 Quick Set Up Guide http://www.ke7x.com/home/k-line-introduction-and-set-up-guide > -----Original Message----- > From: Elecraft [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of > Fred Jensen > Sent: Saturday, June 14, 2014 2:57 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [Elecraft] KAT500 operation? > > On 6/14/2014 12:11 PM, Mike Hagele AC6JA via Elecraft wrote: > > I am using a K3 and KPA500 with the KAT500.
