Hardly. That's got to be one of the silliest extrapolations I've seen in a very long time. The much more plausible implication, especially considering the history of the several thousand K3's that have seen pretty hard service around the globe, is that Elecraft wants to gain bonus points with the most visible of their customer base by having an engineer on standby to support their product.
