Download the FTDI drivers fromhttp://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
and install them.
Yes, it surprises me that Windows 8 does not find and load them
automatically, but then there have been some recent changes on the FTDI
drivers from what I have read.

Hi All,
I received a couple of cable from Elecraft today, and I am not having any luck
getting them to work. I go into the device manager and it says a driver has
not been installed. I tell it to update the driver, it goes out to the
Internet, but returns nothing. Any ideas?
Right now, I am trying to get it to work with my Toshiba laptop running Windows
8.
