Yes, Michael, it is a good idea but this does not fit Elecraft's marketing
strategy. They want more K3S sales. They have already been good in keeping
the promise of let you have the chance to upgrade.
Business is business though I really like your idea.

Wouldn’t it be nice if current K3 owners who already have the “older”
options (KIO3, KSYN, KXV3, KBPF3, etc.) could get these
options (newer improved versions) at a discounted price? If you add
these up they are not cheap!
I myself would like the KIO3B, KSYN3A, KXV3A, KBPF3A (I think the current
one can be modified), and have already spent a lot for the older versions
(If I would have known I would have waited on some)!
