One of the few things I miss from my Kenwood TS-590S is the Multi/CH knob that lets you change the VFO frequency up or down 5 KHz for each encoder transition. I used this all the time to go quickly to a frequency within a band. It was even usually faster than the manual keypad entry.
I propose that through a firmware change, the OFS (RIT/XIT) knob be used for such a purpose when it it not being used for RIT/XIT (LEDs are off). It seems to do nothing at the moment when RIT/XIT is not active.
