Thanks to everyone who responded to my question about the toroid guy. Yes
Mike I know what you mean. I wound the coils for a T1, K1, KX1, and K2 so
far but I have another K2 due to arrive this AM. My first K2(#5022) took
about 2.5 months to build because I took my time. I did take my time winding
the coils and I scraped the leads clean and had no trouble with the solder
joints on them. I have the K2 on the air SSB and it is performing perfectly.
I think I will probably go with the toroid guy for the second K2. I want it
to be the absolute best build I can do so it may take even longer.

Since your kit comes with everything I'd recommend winding one or two and
see what you think. I agree with Dave that it's not hard, and for me was
also a very nice change of pace. Along those lines, once the rig is built
it's built forever. So don't rush. Take your time and enjoy every second
of the build! Not just for the sake of quality, but to simply enjoy a
phase of the K2 that's over way too fast.
