Rich, Use Spectrogram and center that 2.6 passband between 300 Hz and 2900 Hz and you should be good to go. I would say to bite the bullet and remove the KPA100 board to fix the cable - trying to solder it with the board in place is an exercise in frustration that usually ends in failure (been there, tried that - never successfully 'done that').
