Jim and others, I agree with everything that everyone has said..... That's why I was asking about a good news story? Has anyone tried it? Any real first hand reports?

Hughes Net, Exede or others There are at least two issues. The most obvious is latency -- how much "turn around" time are you able to tolerate? You've got to make the round trip up and back to the bird, and that's in addition to digital encoding latency. The second issue is bandwidth. I've heard that satellite systems aren't exactly speedy. :) 73, Jim K9YC ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to w...@aol.com ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
