Hi Jack I do use my 6300 with the KPA500 and have done so for over 2 years.
The way I do it is with a local pc at the remote. The other way for you would be to install a serial to ip converted at your remote and then run the KPA500 software at home. In the configuration of the Serial To IP converter this will work. The RemoteQTH Server has most of this built in as well and then you can expand to control more items.
