It is easier than fabricating switch bodies. Mouser has several candidates - 
look at their 502-ED903. It is a nice hand-held switch in a comfortable case, 
costing about $12. Add wire and appropriate plug (mine has a phono plug for the 
K3) and you can build a very nice PTT switch for less than $20. 

They also have a new assembly with cable attached for a bit more - something 
like $160. I don;’t recommend that…
