I don't know much about antennas, but in the late 60s or early 70s I worked a station on 20 meters with a 10 mile long (long wire antenna).
That was KC4AAD in Antarctica. I don't have the QSL card I got back then, but was a picture of part of the antenna. I know it was 20 meters, because I only had a 20 meter antenna. A 3El wide spaced monobander up about 35 feet.
