Great! Thanks for the detail. Table 2 on page 8 of the KAT500 manual should 
have given you the exact connections you needed to make for the Molex to KAT500 
cable. Note that the plug o the KAt500 end is stereo with tip, ring and sleeve. 
Please recheck these connections to make sure that pin 4 of the Molex does 
indeed go to the sleeve of the mini-phone plug. It would be best to ohm out the 
cable to make sure the signals go to the right places and there are no shorts 
between pins.

Table 3 on that same page shows the Key-line connections, which I suspect are 
correct at the point. In any case be sure to check that cable as well.
