I have always used the latest version of Raspberian. Now its raspbian
stretch. https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/
I have an 8 AH 12 volt SLA battery and a small 12 to 5 volt converter
for the PI . The battery is also the supply for my KX3 and can recharge
an HT. I would be excited to be able to add Elecraft utilities to the
Raspberry Pi.
Yes SLA batteries are heavy but I have yet to meet a ham that couldn't
use a little bit more exercise. Myself included. They are also cheap.

I have a Raspberry Pi in a go box with APRS software and a program
called Chirp. Chirp can program a whole slew of different radios (Not
Elecraft) :-(. In Chirp I have files that have all the local
repeaters and can install them as needed. I would love to add
Elecraft utilities to my Pi. Steve kb1chu

What a wonderful idea… I’m thinking about adding a Pi to my

Wes,
I wonder if a better answer would be to push for versions of the
utilities that compile on an ARM chip so that it could be run on a
Raspberry Pi. Particularly as it’s already been compiled for an X86
under Linux, so all the libraries should be there. I don’t think
many of us would worry about spending 25 quid on a little computer
to have just to run the utilities and maybe some of the modern
digital modes?

You could always do what some of us Windows users do; keep an old
computer around with legacy OS. My two shack computers and my
office desktop still run Win 7 Pro. To run my N2PK VNA, I have a
laptop with a parallel port running WinXP and I think there is
still a 386 laptop out in the garage somewhere with Win95, just in
case :-) Of course the latter two have no WiFi cards in them to
avoid troubles.

Apple plans to not support 32 bit applications with the next

My favorite program for SO2V RTTY, cocoaModem is one of them, and
there is no formal support for it, and the available sources
won't build under the modern MacOS development environment.
I'm hoping for a miracle.
