Jim, Thank you very much for confirming that what I see isn't due to a broken K3.
I agree that if firmware can fix this, it would be very nice. Elecraft had this particular feature listed in the feature set for the upgrade, IIRC, which is a large reason I splurged on the upgrade. I didn't want any more external interface confusion.
