I was interested in your comment regarding using your KX3 as a driver for your amp. I too had tried my KPA500 with my KX3 as a backup for my K3s should it ever go down for repairs. It worked just fine and put out about 230 Watts. When I upgraded to a KPA1500, again I wanted to have back up using my only other HF rig, the KX3.
