I can't speak for Elecraft but given the present disruptions in parts, supply chains and labor, coupled with inflation, I have to wonder how they could possibly give an answer other than "as long as possible."
Something you might consider (maybe you already have) is buy a backup K3S to serve as a donor if something goes south with your main one. There are loads of them coming on the market now, and if you already have a working one, you have more time to hold out for a good price on a second one.
