Warning: Before you use PayPal to sell a rig, consider using something else.
I just sold a rig through PayPal, with UPS tracking number, but after
payment was received into my account, PayPal placed a 21 DAY HOLD on the
funds.
"We've placed the money on hold because this transaction is inconsistent
with your previous selling activity. The money has been added to your on
hold balance. It'll be available once we can confirm that your customer
has received the goods or services."
"Here's what you can do to get your money sooner
Provide shipment information (Already done)
Add a valid tracking number and your money will be available 1 day after
PayPal confirms that the shipment has been delivered. (Again, already done)
Print a shipping label"
(I did not use their ShipStation service because the rig was packed
and labeled before the payment was received by PayPal.
The rig was delivered, no problems, notice of delivery was received, I
have been an EBay seller since 1994, and a Paypal seller nearly as long.
Do they do this with "Friends and Family" if the receiver has never
received a large payment?
I have spent over three hours attempting to reach a live person.
Their customer service is the typical endless loop automated system.
Caveat emptor, I guess.
