I do this with the MFJ 1026 in between the RX IN/OUT. I can use the 1026 preamp by itself with the RX ANT gain turned to zero or I can put the RX antenna in line for dual VFO/Band RX or use as a diversity RX setup. There is another thread about the effectiveness of diversity RX - I was playing around with this setup last nite on 20m (propagation was pretty good) and was hearing stations from HI to the East coast on the 80m RX loop almost as good as the inverted V and some were better. Plus, this setup gives me the option to null out unwanted interference and on lower bands (40m seems most effective) reduce QSB.
