Hi Charlie, I have a Pelican 1400 for my K2. Just enough room left for a mini-paddle and some connectors. No need to put it sideways. Just put the rig over the foam, and cut. Connectors on the right side, buttons on the left, or vice-versa. BTW, I install it upside down : easier to pull the rig out with the tilt stand as a handle.
