Kevin, Look at the Builder's resource page and Application Notes section on the Elecraft website www.elecraft.com for a diagram of how to handle parts that are larger than the holes as well as a lot of good information about soldering and other subjects.
The leads should be formed under the part a bit and then run downward if the part is to fit parallel with the board, but other than 'neatness' there is no problem if the chokes are tilted a bit either (at least no problem at the HF frequencies, VHF/UHF may have other considerations). 73, Don W3FPR > -----Original Message----- > > Wife got me the kpa100 for my k2 this Christmas.
