Dave, If you look at the back of the thermistor board, there is one place where 3 resistors come together just above pins 4 and 5, those are connected together. OTOH, a bit toward the right of that point you will see two resistors with the ends pointing at each other and the PC traces are quite close together - those should NOT be connected, it is easy to create a solder bridge at that point. If you want a resistance check, read the value between pins 5 and 6 - if it is zero, you have the solder bridge.
