Hi, Because Germany and the UK are both part of the EU:

When I've imported stuff from the US to Germany either I end up going to the customs office here in Munich and paying them the 19% directly ... .. or I've gotten calls from the parcel service (UPS, DPD, etc.) informing that they have a packet in Cologne (or elsewhere) for me. When the parcel service calls, then one has to try and explain what is in the package and "yes you may do customs for me".
