Hi Thomas, glad to hear that is now working.
> You are right... different computer same USB <=> serial converter and it is > working. I had problems with an older version of the Elecraft firmware loader, which turned out not to be the application but the USB/RS232 drivers. I had used an other USB/RS232 interface with my Apple Power Book (dual boot using Boot Camp & Windows XP Professional) a few months ago, and the old and new USB to serial drivers conflicted, which took a while to figure out. Everything looked OK in the device manager, for example, but programs like HyperTerminal (Microsoft) failed when using the pseudo COM port. It might be worth while to remove all the USB to Serial drivers on the computer which is causing problems, reboot, and then do a fresh install of the drivers for your adapter (if possible check the Internet for any updates), before inserting the USB to RS 232 adapter. Also the standard installer for USB drivers in Windows is not the best, so you may have better results with the installer software which came with the adapter. Just a thought... vy 73 de toby -- DD5FZ (ex 4n6fz, dj7mgq, dg5mgq, dd5fz) K2/10 #885 K2/100 #3248 K3/100 #67 DOK C12, BCC, DL-QRP-AG _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [email protected] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
