Hi Matt, Thanks for the reply and especially for the config file.
My computer configuration looks quite similar to yours. I was able to write your configuration into my K3 !!! Only two (or three...) warnings about an illegal value... maybe my K3 has not the same modules... After that i tried to backup the configuration which failed again. I don't have any idea what my problem is. Maybe i should check it with a different computer (with a RS232 interface) to be shure it's not a problem with my K3. I've attached a copy of that file in case it might useful to you. The only way I might be able to help you is to tell you the serial port setup here, o/s, etc. You're right - it doesn't sound like an interface problem. However it might be your hw platform, o/s, or even a device driver. K3: s/n 24; MCU 1.41, DSP 1.39 COM Port: 4, 4800 BPS COM port is running via USBSER.SYS on a Keyspan USA-19HS USB-to-serial adapter. Computer: HP DV2000T laptop, Centrino Duo T2400, 1.83 GHz o/s: Microsoft XP-Pro, SP2 If I were you, I'd reboot the computer and not load any applications, then retry the config save. matt, WA6EGJ == On Fri, 23 Nov 2007 05:00:42 +0100, you wrote: >Has anyone seen this error? > >Using the "K3 Firmware Update Downloader (Version 1.0.11.21)" i get >always the same problem with the function "save K3 configuration as" >under the tab "configuration". >The saving proccess stops unpredictable. > >In a small portsniffer output i can see that the response from the K3 >is alright referring to the format. >But some characters are wrong, which seems to be the reason why the >software stops the process. >Inside the stored file you can find "*error reading EEPROM at ...". > >My K3 has the current MCU and DSP software installed and i've checked >it with all available baud-rates. >Based on the fact that my previous firmware upgrades were successful i >would assume it is not a problem with the interface. > >Any comments ? > >Thanks, >Thomas, DM7TN >s/n 78 > > >_______________________________________________ >Elecraft mailing list >Post to: [email protected] >You must be a subscriber to post to the list. >Subscriber Info (Addr.
