We actually have -both- IF and AF DSP filtering in tandem in the K3 for best performance. The confusion came about because we chose to display the audio b/w, which is 1/2 of the IF b/w for AM. (2 identical sidebands in AM.) Of course in SSB the IF b/w and the Audio b/w are the same since SSB only has one sideband, so there was no confusion there.
In response to popular demand, we're going to increase the AM b/w display 2X to match the IF b/w in the next K3 s/w release. :-) So for the 6 kHz AM filter it will display 6 kHz max instead of 3 kHz. 73, Eric WA6HHQ ---- G4ILO wrote: > > > Joe Subich, W4TV-3 wrote: >> >> But it's not 6 KHz ... it's 3 KHz audio bandwidth and that is >> what is shown on the display.
