How about REC > select M1 - M4 > CLR > select same M1 - M4 > rig returns to operation. While it does not seem to be documented, someone discovered (wish I could remember who so credit could be given) that putting the "im" by itself into a memory M1 - M4 on CW would result in "emptying" that memory - much better than just overwriting it with a dit which does result in a xmitted signal and amp relays tripping when inadvertently pushed in the heat of battle!
