To me, the word "commodity" means it's so simple anyone can do it well and do it inexpensively. If you really believe high power amps are a commodity, I invite you to design one, get the bugs out of the design, put it in production, and get the manufacturing bugs out if it, then sell it for price that allows you to support it and stay in business. If at the end of that process and a few years in business you still think it's a commodity, I'll buy you a case of your favorite beverage.
