Jim: If you are going to extract an IF sample out of the K2, the Z10000 buffer amplifier can be installed inside the K2 with the internal installation option. This provides a convenient IF output with bandpass filtering, protected against short circuits on the IF sample port connector and with excellent isolation--around 100 dB reverse gain when installed according to the instructions provided with the Z10000 kit.
There's an embarrassingly long manual with the details on installing the Z10000 inside a K2 at http://www.cliftonlaboratories.com/elecraft_k3_and_panadapters.htm Jack K8ZOA www.cliftonlaboratories.com Jim Campbell wrote: > Ron, > > I'm not familiar with the Conexant audio device.
