Hi Steve,

I've noticed that data mode seems to always be AFSK A after updating  
firmware regardless of what it was set to before the update, but I've  
not had it spontaneously change just by turning the rig off as you  
describe.  (That said, I *have* had cases where the band map has  
changed without me explicitly changing it, but I've never been able to  
intentionally reproduce it.  The usual change is 40m gets mapped out  
or 60m gets mapped in.)

Are you turning the rig off with the power button on the front panel,  
or by shutting off your power supply while the rig is on?  Shutting  
off your power supply while the rig is turned on can result in some  
settings not being saved.
