Good Evening,
This week has had some highly unusual weather. Lightning had me unplugging
my antennas over and over again. Normally we have a few lightning strikes a
year, if that. This year I have had many days of thunderstorms in a row. Our
normal rain is kind of a drizzle with no pizzazz. Lately that has not been not
true. Blasting winds, dark grey clouds, sheets of rain, with lightning and
thunder. All and all pretty exciting. But, having grown up with this, it
tends to relax me and let me sleep soundly. A great thunderstorm has always
made me happy :)
Conditions on twenty meters have been fair to good this week. I tried 40
meters a little before dinner time and found it good too. Hopefully that will
hold for tomorrow. Now that we are actually seeing a sunspot now and then
things are getting better. That along with the onset of Sporadic E season
helps propagation. We had nowhere to go but up so this is good news. The
latest prediction is for a very weak peak but the sunspot forecasting
techniques are still in their infancy; maybe they will be wrong and we can
experience IGY type propagation once again. I can't wait for 10 meters to open
up consistently so I know what real DX is all about.

Please join us tomorrow evening.
