I do not use a PC with the K3 and I am portable all the time so the P3 is the way to go for me.
My only concern will be my ability to read what is on the smaller display. IF Elecraft supply a "Video Out" from the P3 then I will get one as there are "smaller" LCD monitors running low power (12vdc) as used in motor vehicles to keep the little ones amused whilst travelling.
