Because it has a better integration, because I can use it in the field, without a PC (or laptop connected), because it has a small format (ok, perhaps not quite as small as a netbook).
Because I haven't yet seen any Mac OSX software to implement a Pan-Adapter. Because it has a great potential, not just as being able to display RTTY & PSK in more chars etc on the screen. But the interface could do far more and I expect it will over time. Yes you could do all that by running different software at the same time. However, I'm not interested in CWSkimmer. I haven't made the investment in an LP-PAN or the audio card, purely because I ran a Mac and I've been waiting for the P3. I do own a microHam DIGIKEYER, which has a very good Audio CODEC. Maybe I'm mad, but I also like the idea of staying away from too much computerisation - I spend 14+ hours a day at a computer - it's my job, as well as a hobby and I like the idea of it not being dominant in my other hobbies. 73 de M0XDF, K3 #174 -- It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends. -J.K.
