Hi Jorge - The PTT should not have anything to do with where your mic is connected. If you get an ERR PTT that means that when the radio is turned on, the PTT has been applied. There are at least five ways to engage the PTT as far as I recall: TX button on front panel, PTT line on front mic connector, PTT jack in rear, RS-232 pin, and through software. I suggest checking/removing each of these to make sure that one of them is not shorted. I think that the Heil footswitch has multiple switches on it for sequencing so maybe you have it wired incorrectly.
